Sexual harassment and violence perpetrated by youth is a significant and widespread public health issue. It occurs frequent in schools, online, and in our communities with serious, sometimes lifelong, physical, mental and behavioral health consequences for victims. Peer-on-peer sexual harassment and abuse is so common in some settings that youth may regard them as normal. The dynamics, risk factors and impact of these behaviors within both in-person and online environments will be explored. This workshop will provide resources and strategies to identify warning signs and respond effectively to incidents, with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention and accountability.
