The financial support of outstanding college students through a robust scholarship program is one of the many valuable initiatives of the Pennsylvania Masonic Youth Foundation.  The competitive scholarship program includes the awarding of over $150,000.00 in undergraduate scholarships annually.  A lesser recognized support of higher education comes in the form of service scholarships provided to the elected youth leaders of the Masonic Youth Groups.  At the conclusion of their year of service, the youth leader receives a $2,000.00 educational scholarship and a plaque recognizing their service to their organization.

During the month of June, the Executive Leadership Team of the Pennsylvania Masonic Youth Foundation had the opportunity to present these scholarship checks to the Grand Master Knight, Rashone Stevenson, of the Pennsylvania Knights of Pythagoras, and to the State Companion President, Stormi Trusty, of the Ruth Mitchell Tucker Girls Youth Department.

Assistant Executive Director Joe Pullin presented Rashone with his check during the Business Session of the 56th Annual Convention of the Pennsylvania Knights of Pythagoras.  Rashone is majoring in Physical Education with a minor in Communications at Shippensburg University.  A week later, during the Business Session of the “Building a Better Tomorrow” State Conference for the Ruth Mitchell Tucker Girls Youth Department, Executive Director Dave Berry presented Stormi with her service award.  Stormi is majoring in Nursing at Widener University.

Over the next couple of months, service scholarship awards will be presented to the presiding youth officers of Pennsylvania DeMolay, Pennsylvania Job’s Daughters, and Pennsylvania Rainbow for Girls.
