SUMMARY:Weathering the Storm of Girlhood Sadness - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:In the last few years\, our youth have reported increased mental health concerns and challenges\, along with experiences of violence and suicidal ideation and behavior. The CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey drew attention to the record high levels of sadness\, violence and suicide risk of our girls. LGBTQ+ teens in particular reported experiencing extremely high levels of violence. This workshop will address the issues impacting girls and their mental health: social media culture\, sexual violence\, stress and trauma\, academic pressures and bullying and harassment. Strategies and resources to address the concerns of our girls will be explored. \nIf you wish to register for a webinar\, please contact Amy Nace at alnace@pmyf.org or call 717-367-1536\, ext. 2.
