SUMMARY:Developing Empathy & Creating Connections Among Youth - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Is developing empathy an effective strategy in reducing bullying and helping youth create sustaining connections with others? Recent studies indicate the development of empathy can reduce bullying and harassment and create connections among peers. While it is ideal to teach empathy at an early age\, there is a lot that can be done to develop empathy in teens. This workshop will:  \n\nLook at the development of cognitive and affective empathy during the teen years \nExamine empathy “inside” the brain \nAddress barriers to empathy \nDiscuss the essential steps for building empathy among youth \nLook at the development of empathy to prevent bullying behavior \nReview resources in the development of empathy \n\nIf you wish to register for a webinar\, please contact Amy Nace at alnace@pmyf.org or call 717-367-1536\, ext. 2.
